Yesterday Louise and I had a 30  minute interview with radio Tygerberg, to chat about Pumpkin Ministries and what we do.It was an amazing time to share how we started, what our challenges are and how people within the community can help.

We have response and it is wonderful.Pumpkin Ministries is a community owned ministry and any one can be involved.

Today we have volunteers coming to look at our safe house home to see what we are all about. Exciting days ahead.......

Louise and I to Adopt baby Boaz Joy

November 14, 2011
Louise and I after lots of prayer have come to the decision to adopt Boaz Joy. We are in the process with the Bellville Children's court. Louise and I went to get Boaz scanned to determined when she was born. Her estimated date is the 19th August 2011. At present we are generating a ID number so we can officially sign for the adoption process. Boaz has crept into our hearts more than we realize.

So what this space as the adoption process is unveiled.

New baby Liezel comes to Pumpkin Ministries

November 14, 2011
In early November a new baby girl Liezel come to be with us. She was 10 days old when we picked her up from Social services. Liezel too was very cute with a mop of hair. Louise and I have really been blessed with good babies, who feed well and are simply good as far as small babies go.

Louise and I are in a way in a rhythm with the babies coming and going. We just love them and demonstrate Gods love to them. Each of these little children have a future that can be so bright  and the potential of all the children is limitless.

Pumpkin Ministries Grows

November 14, 2011
Amy and Zane came to be in our home for a while. Zane is 3 years old and Amy his sister 8 months old. In total we had 6 children living in our home. Bath times were a challenge but fun nevertheless. Gideon our boy who we adopted is 3 too and he and Zane were the best of pals from the start but also the best of competitors.

It was wonderful to have the them in our home and to love unconditionally. Our family had been sponsored a months worth of meals from an outside company called the Doorstep Chef. This was a huge blessing as Louise and I could focus on the ids and did not have to worry about meals. Financially it was a huge saving. Each evening the food would arrive at 5:30pm and all 8 of us would tuck into the meal that had arrived.

Working with the welfare we sent Zane and Amy to their grandmother who Loves in Springbok. Even though these two precious children were with us for just short of a month we realized that we can make a difference to their lives in a small way. Louise and I met the Grandmother two day before their trip back to Springbok and on the travel date we packed their clothes, and added some  bottles, formula, snacks for the trip and said goodbye. We wish Zane and Amy Gods richest blessings and pray you find happiness and a bright future wherever you may go.

Court date for Boaz Joy

September 7, 2011
Louise and I went to the child court today at 2pm to sign the documents to have Boaz Joy signed over to us as Foster parents. It was a big day for all. Most of the court staff wanted to adopt our Boaz, as she is so cute. 37 babies were abandoned in the month of August and that is just in the Bellville Children's court. makes us realize the need is so great to help these precious children.

God provides

August 30, 2011
We have been blown away by the way God has just taken care of every detail and every need with Louise and I taking in a baby girl. Until tonight we still did not have a snug and safe, pram or small carry cot. Well tonight we were given two snug and safes, a small carry cot, nappies, baby grows and a doughnut ring. The pram is getting dropped off tomorrow.

Lou and I really do feel that Pumpkin Ministries is so much bigger than just us and is for the greater Durbanville community.
