Donations from community

September 14, 2012
Louise and I at Pumpkin Ministries are so overwhelmed at people that give of their time and support us and dont even really know us.

Ronel Button is one of those people.Ronel has been instrumental is gathering clothes and baby products for us over the last while.Ronel and her husband Charles have just made a difference by simple acts of kindness. I have communicated with Ronel over the last while and finally Ronel her and Charles. They handed me bags and boxes of clothes and toys and baby products.

Ronel and Charles are reaching out to business in the community to help Pumpkin Ministries and other ministries like ourselves.

If you want to get hold of her and look into how you can assist, you can mail her

ronelbutton@yahoo.com

Ronel's helping hands charity is called Community Chain Reaction

Ronel and Charles have been supportive, encouraging and most of all have shown unconditional love.

Bless you both in all you put your hearts and hands to.

Corporate Business

June 19, 2012
Louise and I have been running Pumpkin Ministries for nearly a year and there has been an awesome response from individuals on a grand scale but very little response from Corporate business in Cape Town.

We are looking to corporate companies that manufacture the following to assist us:
nappies
Fisson paste bum cream
Oats
baby foods
wet wipes
baby clothes for boys and girls (new born to 5 years old)
Grain cereals
Baby shampoo
Jams and peanut butters
Soaps
Washing powers
Cleaning products

This is just a few of the items we need on a continual basis.

It would be refreshing to see corporate Cape Town aid us in looking after precious children.

Three more children arrive at Pumpkin Ministries

May 30, 2012
Two children aged two and a half and one year old brother and sister have been placed in our care at Pumpkin Ministries. Another little guys who is one years old also came to be with us. So with our 3 children of our own it makes a total of 7 kids in the house.

To say bath times are manic would be an understatement of the decade. There is more bath water on the floor and down the passage than remains in the bath its self. But daily we get through it and survive. Our newest 1 year old is full of beans and has settled in well. We are working with the department of Social Development and are hoping to place the beautiful child with a family that are keen to adopt him.

Baby Liezel placed in a loving family and others come to stay at Pumpkin Ministries Louise and i

April 10, 2012
Baby Liezel was placed in a loving home on Friday 30th  March 2012. It was an emotional and very happy day for us, knowing that we can take in more babies and love and care for them. What Louise and I have been called to do is not packaged neatly and cannot be boxed but is rather messy and we often have to feel our way through it all.

Louise and I had a break with just one baby in our care. Louise was feeling that more babies would come and it would be soon. Today we received a call from Child welfare and there are two new babies that are going to be coming to stay. So there will a be a little rearranging of beds and cots but it will all work out. Later today we will go and collect these two precious babies. And so more fun begins in the Pumpkin ministry house hold.

Response to Tygerburger article

January 27, 2012
Pumpkin Ministries has made the press. The article went live in the Tygerburger on the 25th January and the response from the community has been over whelming to say the least. As stated Pumpkin Ministries is not just Louise and I but is so much bigger reaching into the community as a whole.

We have calls for people who want to supply baby food, nappies. Others who want to volunteer their time to spend time with the children.

The effect of this article is even bigger in many ways , as there as folk out there that want to be informed about the  adoption and fostering  process. We are not experts at this by any means but together with the folk that approach us we can find  a way together.

Throughout the last couple of years there has been a huge change in the hearts of people within the community to adopt and foster and to be part of empowering others to do the same.

A huge than you for all the mails of support, those who have given of their time and financially given to assist. Bless you all!!!

New Year and new beginnings

January 19, 2012
Well we are into another year with new adventures with Pumpkin Ministries. Louise was in Pemba Mozambique from the 7th to the 21st December and was at the Iris Ministry base in Pemba. Heidi and Rolland Baker oversee a mission base that feed and look after orphans and widows. Louise met a young lady at Pemba who got chatting with Louise. Kelly Joe has a heart for South Africa and abandoned babies. Louise invited her to come visit Pumpkin Ministries in Cape town. Kelly arrived on the 9th January and stayed with us for a week.

Kelly has been our first of hopefully many overseas visitor and volunteers for Pumpkin Ministries.
